Plitvic Lakes (Plitvička jezera) National Park, Croatia

When we visited Plitvic Lakes National Park in Croatia, I still couldn't get my tourism project from Istanbul out of my mind. I'd seen the waterfalls before, so this trip I decided to spend some time focusing on their visitors.

Dugi Otok, Croatia

Dugi Otok is a Croatian island in the Adriatic sea. Croatia's tourism motto is The Mediterranean As It Once Was. That doesn't apply as well around Dubrovnik, Hvar, and some of the other more-touristed areas, but as soon as we got to some of the outer islands and national parks, the natural beauty was breathtaking. Here's a little bit of what we saw.

Speaking of Turkey, and Being Thankful...

Here are some images from a long day of hiking and adventuring with new and old friends in Cappadocia, Turkey, last summer. It was probably the best day of my life.

Giving Thanks with Local, Kosher, and Ethically-raised Turkeys

I shot this story around this time last year. It's about a group of Jews in Boston who wanted local, Kosher meat for their Thanksgiving celebrations. They spent a day on a farm, where they watched the ritual slaughter and helped to de-feather the turkeys by hand. For more details, see the captions with the images. They were a lovely, caring, and socially-aware group of people. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to spend a day with them.

Lake Bled, Slovenia

It's a cloudy election day here in North Florida. Here are some completely unrelated pictures from a beautiful swim spot in Slovenia. I shot them back in July, but if you haven't seen them, they're new to you!
